Building a Greenhouse With SASS!

Posted 1 month, 1 week ago by Michelle Parker

Yesterday we started to assemble our greenhouse here at South America Snow Sessions. The hotel we're staying at has been collecting bottles for a few months now and we have some  of the local restaurants and bars doing the same. When it's all said and done we will have used 1,500 plastic soda bottles to complete the project which we'll be leaving behind at a local school in Bariloche.

We started off by removing the wrapping on the bottles and taking the caps off. Then we cut the bottoms of the bottles off and started stringing them like beads to the bamboo shoots. Bamboo grows in abundance in Bariloche so we have plenty of raw material to work with.

The picture above is what we're going for. Hopefully it will catch on down here and people will be able to grow their own food rather than importing fruits and vegetables. We are planning to leave it at a local school and talk to them about growing food and sustainability. It's a sweet project down here because they don't have much of a recycling program going on. Looking forward to the outcome! I'll keep you posted along the way.

South America Snow Sessions

Posted 1 month, 1 week ago by Michelle Parker

Just a few shots from the past week and half in Argentina. The weather has been great. Storms are on the horizon. No shortage of good meat and wine! South America Snow Sessions is in full swing. There are still spots open for sessions 3 & 4. Check out www.sasnow.com if your into it. SNC is down here teaching classes and the ski and snowboard coach line up is stacked. Not to mention we have Squaw's Miles Clark ripping lines and guiding us to epic terrain on the daily. I'll keep you updated with all the face shots and tits deep pow we're shredding. In the mean time get outside and enjoy the summer! My tan is gone, but I'm okay with that. Enjoy!

Michelle Parker-Back on Snow

Posted 6 months, 4 weeks ago by Michelle Parker

Even though the light wasn't too good, I decided to take advantage of the low crowds and soft snow for my third day back in action. Still stickin' to the groomers, but mid afternoon when the groomers soften up has made for some good turns. My knee is feeling better every day and I always come off the hill with a smile. If you're bumming on the clouds, try taking a year off, you'll appreciate being on the hill no matter the conditions. The snow is great!!

Demo Day

Posted 7 months ago by Michelle Parker

I went over to Alpine today to check out the demo going on and some of the new gear. The Hellbents had me the most stoked. Crazy new graphic. Schmies over at K2 never fails to deliver. Hope you like them as much as I do!
